LAMP Ministries is a Catholic lay
missionary association, comprised of people
who serve among the materially poor, with a
focus on evangelization. LAMP’s call has drawn us into the beating Heart of Jesus as that Heart of Compassion embracing those most in need, with our Blessed Mother’s Heart united to His. |

Are you called to
the mission of Lamp? |

The Eucharist |
|
The Eucharist is
central to LAMP's spirituality. The mission of the Church is a continuity of the mission of Christ and draws spiritual energy from communion with
His Body and Blood. |

Although you may
not be able to visit a materially poor person or
family in a crowded shelter or walk-up apartment
in the New York City Metropolitan area, you can
help to make it possible for a LAMP Missionary
to do so. |

LAMP
sponsors an evangelization rally in Times
Square |
Ed Greene
collaborated with the staff at Holy Cross
Parish in Times Square to present a Catholic
evangelization rally. The event took place
in front of the church, which is located
directly across from a main bus terminal in
New York City. As cars passed by, drivers
rolled down their windows to listen. People
stopped and were given Scripture tracts and
refreshments offered by the LAMPCafé. The
pastor of the parish along with the
associates, parishioners, school children,
and LAMP Ministers offered a gentle witness
of their faith through prayer, Scripture
readings, preaching, music and testimony.
As people passed by, they were invited to
the parish to visit, attend Mass, and
receive the Sacraments. The event was in
celebration of the theme of the Jubilee
Year, "Open Wide the Doors to Christ".
